I am looking to make a new purchase and have worn Adidas 360's for years. They are starting to feel a bit on the heavy side and im looking for a lightweight show with the same type of stability. Anyone have any suggestions or am i searching for an animal that does not exist?
Thanks

- #2Never really knew what 'stability' in a golf shoe meant. What are you after? Any shoe that fits your foot properly should hold your foot in it adequately... And then any shoe with spikes or other decent grip should keep you adequately grounded durning the swing.
You could make an argument for leather FJ Icons and the newest Nike Roshe both being 'stable,' despite the fact that one is structured and the other completely flexes with your foot. - #3Don't want to speak for the OP, but for me at least, 'stability' in a golf shoe has to do with how low it is to the ground. The FJ DNA's from a few years back, for example, seemed high off the ground and relatively narrow, so that if I was walking on a sidehill, it bent my ankles to an uncomfortable degree...it felt like I was about to fall off my shoes. Haha.
tsecor, I've also been wearing the 360s and found them to be great...interested to hear if you get any other good recommendations...I'll also be looking for a stable and lightweight shoe. - #4The new UA shoes seem to be exactly what you are looking for. I did a Prime Wardrobe shopping spree during the past few months and there wasn not a single shoe that I tried that felt more 'stable' and stiff as the Spieth's. Maybe the FJ Tours are up there, but they weren't available for that program so, I didn't buy.WITBLTD Tour Blue 75XP790 4i Modus 120XGlide Stealth 2.0 50/10SS AMT WedgeGlide Stealth 2.0 54/12SS AMT Wedge

Sun Mountain 4.5 Bag - #6If you like zero drop the True original is great. Wide footbed and fits very snug.
Or for more traditional the puma titan tour is excellent. Low profile design.
Or the Nike Am90 golf is spike less really comfortable for walking and not traditional looking.

Hahahaha! Nice description of the DNA’s. High off the ground and narrow and unstable.
I hated them so much I had to try them on a couple weeks later when I went back to the golf shop just to see if I was imagining it. Hideous shoes.9.5* Cobra LTD, Old school Grafalloy Blue, 43.5'

What I mean by stable is basically the shoes ability to not only keep you 'planted' but also have enough support in the side of the shoe to not collapse during weight transfer. I tried the lightweight Adidas 360's (forgot the real name) and while they were comfortable to walk in, during weight transfer, it felt as if the sides of the shoe right under the ankle wanted to give way. Its a problem as you feel a 'collapse' during your swing...I wore them 3x then threw them in the closet and stuck with my 360 for the last 3 years. I was hoping to find something lighter but just as stable.

Odyssey #1WS - #10I have wide feet, so my choices are limited to Footjoy and NB.
To me, you're describing the FJ Fury. Stable. lightweight and comfortable.
I have the Tour S and it's the most stable shoe but it feels like you're swinging on cement blocks. Which I really like the feel of, super stable.
I have the Pro/SL, light but not stable enough.
The FJ Fury is the middle and might be what you're looking for. - #11
Thank you. I looked at the fury and wanted to like it, but they are not attractive to me. For some reason, I just c get past the ugly design. I think the black version is ok, but the other colors are not that attractive. The Tour S on the other hand are really nice looking. I will try those. Thanks for the response

I did try on the UA's and they are not bad. I didn't play in them though. The FJ fury feel really nice in the store, but didn't pull the trigger because of the looks. I'm still searching - #13I've had various generations of DryJoys, FJ Hyperflex and Adidas Tour 360 shoes. I used to think Tour 360s were the best, but my current favorite is the True Original. The 'zero drop' heel does take some time to get used to, but you'll love it after getting in several rounds with these shoes. I finish so many more swings in good balance now. Previously, I would find myself dancing around a bit after a full bore swing. When your heel is jacked up off the ground, more of your weight on the follow through seems to be directed to the toe area. With the zero drop Trues, I feel like my weight at the finish is evenly displaced along the entire left side of my foot. Plus, I'm making more consistent solid contact in the center of the clubface, which is nice. Is it the shoes? Hard to say conclusively, but they are working for me right now.Titleist 917 D3 10.5 Diamana Ltd S+ Blue 70-S

Lots of pros wear them. Not super light like the latest trend but not a heavy shoe. Very light and high support tend to disagree.
- #23If you are talking Pure 360/LTD ... the Puma Titantour Ignite are about as similar a fit as it gets and noticably lighter. Sizing dead on too, as I wore a 11.5 in both.
